How do I charge battery with black box attached?

What is the black box for?  Some sort of tracker?

Just move the box out of the way and disconnect the battery as usual.

I assume it's an insurance black box. There might be implications if it loses power as they think you are trying to drive without it tracking you.

You could always call the insurance to inform them, you need to "service" the battery.

I thought that but insurance black boxes are meant to be hidden and 'tamper-proof', they're generally tucked up behind the glovebox or pedals...seems odd to just dump it on the battery!

Most of the black boxes I’ve come across are just stuck to the top of the battery and use fork type crimps. Whenever I’ve got one in to repair I just disconnect it. The light stays flashing for a while so they must be able to self power for some time.

i wouldn’t worry too much about it, if it needs disconnected then i would go for it.
