Has anyone got steering wheel control working on MK3.5 ST?

HI All,  Been searching and searching for something that will do this. I have a tesla style headunit and the canbus adapter doesnt work for steering wheel controls.  Note it is a 2017 MK3.5 ST not pre facelift which works with steering wheel controls.  I have tried decoder units from UK, US and australia with no luck 😞  I believe that the original LCD display needs to be in the car to decode CANBUS I have been told???  Has anyone figured this out or got steering wheel decoding even SW1 and SW2 working on this model? Please see attached pic
