Matt12341234
Hi all been a while since I've been on here. Currently have an ST-Line X, 18 plate and have been having a look at the ford website to price up my next one. Was planning to get an ST2 but have noticed recently all the models seem to have gone through a change in equipment and price, making the ST2 less affordable. Can any recent purchasers confirm if the ST2 comes with folding mirrors for example? The website gives a list of equipment in addition to the standard STLine (which gets folding mirrors), but these are listed as a feature of the ST3, which indicates they aren't on the ST2. An awful lot of extras i added to my car now appear as standard on the 'new' STLine X.
Mavroz
Yep, think they have gone back to packs for a lot of the extras now. Haven't really noticed on the Fiestas but the Mrs is looking to upgrade to An St Line Eco Sport this year and to get the folding mirrors, privacy glass/ St line X spec, there are at least 2 X packs to add. Probably more profitable for Ford to go back to doing things this way. Maybe in general new cars are getting more expensive, especially to Pcp or lease hire. primus1960
Yes we’re looking at the new Puma, the titanium spec is now the entry level, and st line, st line x, are the specs above. but you have to add the packs to get all the extras, although you can add some things, you’d have to be careful in not adding too much when it’s available in a pack.. Eric Bloodaxe
I'm not at all keen on this "pack" approach. If you're not careful, to get one feature you may want, you could end up paying £550 - 900 (depending on trim level) for a load of other stuff you may have no use for. I doubt whether it will add much value come trade in time, either.😀

The packs previously added items you may not have wanted but to get the features you want you had no choice but to pay for the features you don't. It has gone back to the wayn it used to be before they added the "X" models with everything added.
Eric Bloodaxe
I suppose it's still not as bad as MINI, where (last time I looked) you needed to add one or more packs just to get the stuff you would expect the car to have as standard!😀
Kental
WLTP has meant nearly all variations need testing, so by making either a standard car or an lux pack (for instance) you have 2 versions. If the lux pack includes 4 items, then that is at least 20 different combinations if the options are sold separately. It also makes stock & manufacturing easier to manage. Oh they can charge more too, but surely that isn't the reason.
Guy Heaton
That's what happened to me. All I wanted was the reverse camera but had to get a load of driver assist and park assist stuff I don't care about and never use.
