Focus Mk1 spark plug gap

Featured Replies

Hi Guys got some NGK TR5A-10s.Please can tell Me the correct gap in metric? Not sure if it’s 1.00mm or 1.3mm. I’ve seen both suggested.

The original Bosch specification is 1.3mm👍

If I recall the plug gap was reduced from 1.3 to 1.0mm to put less strain on the coil pack

If that is the part number listed then go with that...the 10 on the end means it's preset to 10mm.

I always used NGK plugs in my ST24 and my dads 1.8 mk1 Focus, both were preset too.

That's a pretty large gap. Can't see the coil pack lasting too long . . . .
