Hi everyone, sorry if this is covered elsewhere but im still pretty new to the forum.
Can anyone tell me what that hose is for in the picture iv circled? I have been checking my hoses today and this one is made out of a sort of fluffy material and then covered in rubber. When checking i noticed that there isnt really a tight connection on either side.
If anyone can help identify what it is i would be most appreciative.
thanks

I also should tell you that the engine is a 1.6 TDCI Econetic.
Thanks

Thank you GazCaz.
The one in the pic looks bent and kinked aswell.
what exactly does one of these do? And would the fact that its kinked and not got a tight seal make any difference to the engine?

thanks

It's an oil breather hose.

Are you sure it's not sealed?  The sheath over the top is just a heatshield so doesn't need to be tight, it's the ends of the rubber pipe that should be tight each end.

Yeah, you can see the rubber ends are secured by jubilee type clips each end.
