1.0EB overheated

Featured Replies

Hello I purchased a car on the around the 15/12/19
(1.0 EcoBoost Ford Focus 2013 61k miles)

and on Sunday 23/2/20 the coolant pipe burst and the engine overheated, when the warning came up I stopped and the engine wouldn’t start again I had to pay £107 to get it recovered back to my house

mum now poking at either a new head gasket or most likely a whole new engine,

it came with 6 months warranty but it doesn’t cover seals gaskets or any seized parts but may cover coolant problems . And it only covers to £750 (less than a new engine minus labour) what are my rights?
is ford still funding or partially funding the cost bearing in mind the most recent thing I can find for that is 2018

It must be worthwhile asking your Ford dealer what the current position is. The last I read (BBC article from 2018) was that "With any future cases, subject to being assessed and linked to potential 1.0-litre engine overheating, [Ford] will contribute 100% of the cost of repair at a Ford dealer."
