Focus MK2 / Elektric Failure / P0698 Low Reverence Voltage

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

my focus has decided to stop working from time to time.

Sometimes it runs 500km sometime you couldn't start 1 or 2 days.

My workshop has found a broken egr valve which is a possible failure for P0698, but the failure is almost there.

Now we seperate each sensor (railpressure / rpm / egr valve) but erverytime the ecu tells "Low reference voltage " wich means the 5V

supply vltage to the sensors will not raise.

To check the ecu I need a pinout of the 1.6 TDCI 2009 ecu.

the wiring diagram will help to. I hope for a shortcut in the cable harness to the engine but without cablecolour....

Unplug the cam sensor or tps and check the 5v on one of the pins with the ignition turned on but engine not running. If it is less than 5v it means a bad ECU computer.

Check the multimeter has a good earth point.

Also check the battery posts are not loose.
