Hi everyone,

I was given an Mk1 focus my mate who gave me the car had lost the remote keyfob so I want to get a new remote before I sell it I ordered a complete fob online but I can't find much info on how you sync a new key has it got be done by a dealer or is it something I can do ?

    Hi you need two coded keys to code a third yourself If you have one uncoded key then a car locksmith will have to sort it👍

    Now, I am certainly not advocating any sort of fraud whatsoever, but check you car insurance. Many policies now specifically cover a 'lost key'. Maybe you dropped it on the way to the shops? 🤣 The price of a new programmed key is horrendous, for my own 15 year old car, I was quoted about 20% of the cars value LOL

    i bought a genuine Ford tibbs  uncoded key and remote from a dealership for around £200 because i'm a snob😊 and paid £60.00 for a locksmith to code and link to the immobiliser because Ford wanted a further £100👍
