sastley
If I'm buying a used (19 plate) Focus from an Arnold Clark motorstore and they say they have carried out first service (it's done approx 12500 miles) will this invalidate warranty with Ford? Guy Heaton
If it's done with ford OEM quality parts then warranty should be fine. Was it definitely the service and not the convenience check?
isetta
many years ago there was an EU ruling saying that car makers could not apply rules to say that they had to service the car if you wanted to keep warranty valid. I know we are no longer in the EU but I assume it still applies at least for the time being.

Yes, in most respects we are out in name only until the end of the transition period, so the same rules will still apply until 31 December and probably beyond, depending on what agreement is reached on the future relationship. I know Arnold Clark Motorstore is a used dealership, but as AC group are a big Ford franchisee (about 18 outlets I think) I don't see see why Ford would argue the service breached the warranty terms (unless dodgy parts were used).
