Forscan help

Featured Replies

I've read many post but none are clear cut, I have a few things I want to do with forscan but I'm a newbie. Never used forscan.

I have a 2015 Ford focus 1.0 zetec, I've added a new steering wheel with cruise control and I've added a new rear camera how do I activate them both?

I also want to put the auto lock on once you set off, I've read people have done it but no details on how.

I'm hoping someone can give me clear instructions with a step by step guide.

Moved to correct forum.

Cheers mate 1st post

You need an extened licence for forscan.

or use focccus and activate what you need. Simple enough on focccus.

i take it youve got your self the correct elm cable ?

What's focccus?

Make sure you back up each module that you are going to change BEFORE you do any changes, that way if anything goes wrong you can easily go back to "asbuilt" condition.

Auto locking is simply a matter of switching on in the BCM

I'm not sure about rear camera, sorry

I'm sure that to activate cruise control you need to switch it on in the BCM, IPC, PCM and ABS module (though I may be wrong) and you need to update the PCM firmware for one with cruise control (though I could be wrong again)

How do I back up each module?

Am I doing something wrong or do I need the extended license to add a camera?

Yes you need to register on the forum and then follow the instructions to get an extended license to make changes

If you look at the bottom of the scree, next to ALL, there is a floppy disc icon.

In each module you plan to make changes, once you go in, click the icon and save the file to a folder on your PC (normally named "your reg number"/"what module it is" asbuilt?

If you're on windows 10 the PC doesn't automatically download and install ALL the correct drivers for the ELM.

If you go onto Forscan there are how-tos on how to get up and running.

Always start/run forscan in administrator mode once you're up and running

I'm on windows 7 forscan was working fine I could read codes, I attempted to install focccus then forscan would not connect for some reason.

I've activated the camera using forscan but when I put it in reverse I'm getting a black screen any ideas what could be wrong?

You probably need to manually configure it using codes.

I'm sure you have to enable it in the PCM and IPC (at least)
