TomsFocus
I do like free stuff... Does anyone use Spotify? I've got a free 6 months trial to use...but don't really know what it is! I just use the radio or YouTube for music normally. Also, how easy is it to cancel before the free trial runs out?

I have been using spotify for almost five years now, I have a family account costs me €15 per month gives me my own account aswell as my wife, my mother and our eldest daughter there own account for my one monthly payment. I recommend choosing PayPal for your payment option, Makes it easier to stop paying as you can cancel in your PayPal account direct debit section
Lenny
I do like treating myself to a new television for the living room, Been getting by with a 26" LG for the past two years, was supposed to get one in the 2019 January sales then I didn't bother well didn't have the funds last January, But thankfully this year was different 😅 picked up a series 7 Samsung 43" UHD 4k Smart TV has two remotes and Alexa For €479 in currys, I could have gotten it delivered for free by purchasing online but I drove to collect it instead, these seven series models were well over €1200 when I fitted the 5 Series 32" Samsung's in the bedrooms last year, I'm delighted to now own one for a quarter of that price and completes the entertainment upgrade process throughout the house the living room television was the final piece. I've updated the living room project thread here:

Thanks for commenting; I've also rearranged the home improvement thread to keep everything categorised better.
zain611
Another headlight restoration done on my grandads car. A lot better than before. My grandad previously took the car to his friend who charged him to do the headlights and made very little difference whereas with me it's a lot better. Not too happy with the left side as it looks to need clear coat. Before and after

Excellent result there mate they look like new; I'm sure he can see the difference, being a Volvo it also needs a bonnet exit exhaust around 3" diameter and 3" inches tall straight up through the bonnet situated slightly to the passenger side, I'd love a Volvo estate with a bonnet exhaust

Looks easy enough to cancel so that's good. Currently the best part is that you can hide the app and keep the music playing, unlike YouTube that stops if you try and do anything else! Though I have to say, listening to music through a 2mm phone speaker sounds about as good as you'd expect for a 2mm phone speaker! Still, it's allowing me to play music on the loo...

Sounds better in the car or through smart tv, I have 6.5" marine Speakers fitted in the ceiling of my bathroom linked in to a mini hifi unit in the bedroom which has bluetooth built in, Enabling me to stream spotify while shaving or in the shower, You will soon see a "Discover Weekly" playlist Available to you I have set mine to download, This playlist consists of 30 songs and changes content every Tuesday all songs are selected by spotify based on what you currently listen to; you may also like this, you can then add each track to your personal playlist where it will remain beyond the duration of one week. Hope I've explained that in the way I mean to 😅
jmurray01
I do like making it between boiler services without any breakdowns!! Here's hoping for another 12 months of flawless service, I have to say I wouldn't hesitate in buying another Ideal as this one has been in since 2011 and the only thing that broke in that time was the mechanical timer.

Often wonder what people are doing for 10 minutes once they get in their car, I just get in & go! Discover weekly playlist should be interesting with my eclectic music tastes!

How does it work then, do you just leave the bluetooth on and it automatically connects? I don't use phone calls at all so have never used cars bluetooth. I did previously use it for sat nav traffic updates a couple of years ago but it was such a faff I soon got bored of getting the sat nav out, switching it on, plugging it in, switching the phones data on, switching data saver on, switching bluetooth on... Then having to do it all in reverse at the end of the journey...

Yeah, on the Fiesta and my previous car with bluetooth , you just have to pair the phone with the car once, when you get it, and it connects instantly after that. In both cases I found it will connect even if the phone was just outside the car (e.g. If I've left it on the kitchen table) as long as it's switched on. 1

We've had the same boiler (Baxi) getting on for 30 years and only had an engineer to it twice, and then all they needed to do was vac out a bit of ash that was obstructing the burner. 5 hours ago, Lenny said: Is that a Gas or kerosene boiler? Was reading the other day that from 2025 it is proposed that all new domestic boilers must be capable of conversion to run on hydrogen. Sounds worrying - but if it's ok to be used in the house and can be produced in sufficient quantities, what's the problem with using it in cars instead of batteries, I wonder! TimST2
Here's an idea for 2020: Instead of having to decide if random chat falls under Things I do like or Things I don't like, why don't we start a new thread in General Chat called something like What's your status today? to post random thoughts and updates that don't deserve their own thread? What do you think?
