Odd rattling when low RPM/reverse/blipping throttle?

Featured Replies

I've had this Ford Focus MK2 for a week or so now and I'm finding it has a rattling noise at low RPM, hopefully this video makes it obvious:

I've had the touchscreen fitted recently but I can't be sure that the two issues are linked. To me it does sound like it is within the dashboard...

Has anyone had similar? Any recommendations?

Not easy to tell from that but it could be the  DMF, does it rattle when you turn of the engine?

Have u tried placing your hand onto the stereo to stop movement?

Honestly I have no idea how I found this but after a few hours of getting under the car/getting my head under the dash/shoving my head into the engine I managed to figure out it was the battery cover touching the front chassis causing the noise.

I've reseated it but it feels like this has just managed to vibrate itself into a position where it is touching the chassis, is there a better solution to just reseating it?

Really frustrating and it does seem completely unrelated to the stereo fit 😞

Stick a few 3m sticky tabs on the edge.
