Hi I own a 2005 Ford Focus Ghia, II (DA_) 1.6 Ti (115hp) bought it second hand in Nov 2018 is it true that this model comes with a life time fuel filter I’ve been trying to find one online to no avail as I’ve been having an intermittent starting problem since August last year I went on Just Answer and explained to the online mechanic and he said sounds like the fuel pump needs replacing however he didn’t say anything bout the fuel filter on some of the online forums fuel filter has been mentioned and I’m not sure if the fuel filter has ever been changed as unfortunately it came with zero service history ! Has anyone had a problem like this with this model ?

    Yes the petrol engine doesn’t have a filter as such, more like a strainer on the in tank pump.

    Ahh ok that’s why nothing was surfacing on any of the online sites, ok so I guess the online mechanic was right a new Fuel Pump it is, just wanted a second opinion from the Ford owners Club .  Thanks Stef
