Fors Focus DRL

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Been trying to do some reading up and can't seem to find a definitive answer so hoping someone here can help me.

I've got a 2015 Focus TDCI Titanium that I bought from a non Ford dealer about 8 months ago and it's still under warranty.

I think my DRLs have stopped working, I'm 90% sure I have them and they used to work, but I'm doubting myself! Can anyone confirm that I do have them, before I go to the garage and potentially look like a complete fool if they aren't a standard feature on my model!

Thanks very much,

Gareth

If it's 2015 then yes, it should.  All cars had to from 2011 on

Great thanks, I'd got myself in a muddle reading about models approved before 2011 not needing them etc so I doubted myself. I also cant find anything in the settings to turn them on/off so I thought maybe I hadn't seen them on previously and I'd just imagined it

Our 62-plate Mk3 doesn't have them.

You're right, Ford managed to save a few pennies by not fitting them to Mk3s as they were type approved earlier...  Not al of the Mk3.5s had them either as they don't need to type approve a facelift as it's the same car underneath.  If it's just a standard Titanium, not the X model with Xenons, then chances are you won't have DRLs on a 2015 model.  It should be very easy to spot by just looking at the lights though.

Perhaps built before the date.

It's the Type Approval date that matters, not the build date.  The Mk3 was type approved long before Feb 2011.

Thanks for the feedback. So my issue is that I THINK I have them and I THINK they used to work, but now arent. So, if I do have them, but they arent working, how will I be able to tell?

Look for a clear strip at the top 'inside' edge of the headlight cluster

As TomsFocus said there are two types, you have the halogen bulb and the LED lights. Stick your lights on Auto and they should come on, if not there might be an issue such as blown bulbs. If you have LED type, and they don't come on you need to check with Forscan as they need to be enabled to work fully, found this out when I upgraded the headlights from halogen to LED.

On MK3.5 Titaniums up to 2017MY (Sync 2 models) you only got LED DRLs if you ordered the car with the appearance pack, which gave you LED DRLs, LED Tail Lamps, Rear Privacy Glass and 17" Alloys.

From 2017 MY (Sync 3 Models) you gained the LED DRLs and Rear Lamps plus keyless entry

This ^

The Ti that I've just helped a friend to buy had this option and compared to another 2015 Ti this was the only difference.

Pop a pic up on here and I'm sure one of us will advise you on what you have?
