Focus mk1 battery light always on!

Featured Replies

I haves put a new battery on and a new alternator and still the battery light is on any ideas?

do you know if it is charging  eg. put voltmeter on battery and voltage might rise from around 12.6v to 14 volt when engine started.   another rough way of doing it. start engine, turn all electrical stuff on to create heavy load, then rev engine slightly and see if headlamps go brighter.

hi, thank you for your reply, I have tried that and it is all ok, I have done over 1000 miles this last week with it been like that and battery is still fine. I don’t understand what it could be I’ve also noticed front heated windscreen button doesn’t work but the rear does and volume down on the stalk on steering wheel doesn’t work, only bought the car jus over a week ago, don’t mind putting money into it as it’s had one owner from new, full service history, all receipts dating back to when bought and 11 months mot.

To be honest you could spend much time on trying to find out why light on for no real benefit. If mine I might think about installing a voltmeter for peace of mind
