whats best way of getting front drop links  off on a mk 2   tryed few days back but the whole think is turning with nut



some have flats on the back so you can use a spanner on and others have a alan key in the fronts to hold them

If you are replacing them a hacksaw or a Dremel to remove the nut.

I got got new ones to fit,, I tried to stick alan key in to but just turned a little then locked up

wd 40 or cut them off

When I had that problem I used a Dremel stone to melt a cut into the nut. It was fun watching the metal melt into the threads 

The last ones I did I cut the centre of the bar, then pulled each back 'popped' the bar off each end respectively, exploding the ball. Then I mole-gripped both the ball and the threaded side and unscrewed each side.

Took about 6 or 7 mins doing that after I realized that my cutting discs were crap after faffing for room and working though about an hour, maybe an hour n half.. On the other side anyway.. 😅

well was bored sunday sun was out,,so I give it a bash to get them drop links off wd40 wire brush alan key and handle of my trolly jack both done in and around 20mins just stuck alan key inside the ball joint then stick the long side of alan key inside jack handle then just jammed it up used a ring spammer job done no more knocking
