Focus 1.6tdci erg removal

Featured Replies

As above, ive searched around for answer but could not find any. Ive got a spilt pipe on my egr valve, its the metal one that comes off the cooler and onto the mass air flow pipe. Ive found a blanking kit on ebay

 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153101579001

My egr is already blanked but want to take the rest out but leave the egr in place to stop the engine management light comming on. What would i do with the rubber coolant pipes going to it? Loop it over on the bulk head?

Thanks in advance.

Coolant goes in the bottom and out the top pipe,

If you remove the cooler and the bottom pipe,

Just connect the top pipe directly to the bottom there,

Aside from this; I don't see any benefits to removing everything except for a little weight reduction; the entire process still requires a digital delete to prevent errors, I too have mine blanked but I fear doing the removal as it could fail MOT being very clear that it's not operating.

Thanks for the reply, the metal corrugated pipe you can see in the pic has split, maybe be easier to replace that then. I thought by leaving the erg in place and plugged it id get away with no error codes? The mot may be an issue tho.

As far as I'm aware; the MOT involves a visual check to confirm everything is in place; I'm in Ireland and it's a bit different here; they cant remove panels or anything here so I've fitted an engine cover 😅
