oil change

looking to do oil change but stuck on what filter to get last time I got one it was wrong one but that was down to euro parts stuck my reg in it came up with that one car is ford focus 1.6 tdci  2008



where did you end up getting your filter from in the end then as id get the same again. was the eurocarparts the metal type or the paper insert.

cant re call were I got last one from lol but the from euro was paper looked like this

That’s what the one looks like in my 2007 1.6tdci and 2015 1.5tdci

I have always bought genuine ford as it’s such An important part. Perhaps I am wasting money but we will never know for sure

Yep buy a omnicraft one from Ford , cheap as chips

If that was the incorret part then your current filter must be the metal type ?

It's not like you to waste money! 😮

I do the same though, easy enough to find genuine ones posted for under a tenner.

All the 1.6TDCi's use a paper element.  Might be 2 different sizes though...  Or maybe ECP just sent the wrong one!

I used to buy PSA filters for my Focus.  Part number 1109AY.  2008 1.6 TDCi 110.

Ford part number should be 1359941 but the cheapest of those seem to be over a tenner atm.

Of course yours might be different, but I'd say it's more likely ECP made an error last time.

I cheers people come to think of it the last filter that I got that was wrong one from euro parts never had that nipple on top

The filter is upside down. The nipple is at the bottom when fitted. Not entirely clear to me what the nipple is for ,the nipple does not have hole in the centre of it
