Windows

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have a 64 plate estate.

Can anyone tell me how the front windows are supposed to work please?

From the switch, I have to hold the button for the passenger window to drop/ raise.

The driver's side, I push the button once for it to drop right down but then had to hold it to raise it up.

Is this right or should it have 1 touch close?

Thank you.

If the driver side has one touch then the passenger side should also have one touch. Also they should be one touch up and down, Try resetting them:

Close the window fully. Release the switch. Lift the switch to the close window position again and hold it for two seconds.

Open the window fully. Release the switch. Push the switch to the open window position again and hold it for two seconds.

The one touch open/close should then work properly.

Hmmm, all that did was lock the windows for a few seconds then they worked same as before.

Passenger side I need to hold up and down, drivers side has 1 touch (or hold if I don't press as far) down but needs to be held to close.

I don't know if it makes a difference but it's only the front windows that are electric on my car...rears are manual winders.

The standard electric windows (only front electric windows) only have the quick down function for the driver door. The window motors of this system are conventionally controlled by relays and switches. The driver door switch panel contains a circuitry that is responsible for the quick down function. The windows of this system do not have a pinch protection.

The optional comfort windows (front and rear electric windows) have the quick down and quick up function for all doors. Next to this the system also supports global opening/global closing by the remote central locking system. The window motors of this system are digitally controlled by the CANbus system (BCM and door modules). All windows of this system do have a pinch protection.

The standard electric window system and the comfort electric window system are completely different systems. Even the window motors of the front doors are different.

Many thanks. So it's working as it should then. That'll do, so long as I know nothing is faulty I'm fine with it.
