Mirror Covers - Painted or unpainted?

Featured Replies

Managed to peel off some paint on a wing mirror yesterday with the pressure washer.  Looks like someone resprayed a stone ship and didn't do the best job.

Anyway, its a Focus mk3.5 2017 in moondust silver - I was under the impression that these may come pre-painted by ford, but this doesn't seem to be the case unless you guys know different.

Anyone have a part number?  It's the passenger side mirror, and it's the version with indicator, puddle, and fold. I don't think that makes a difference with just the covers though.

Also, is anyone able to confirm or deny that the cover's on the mk2.5, mk3 and mk3.5 are the same?

Thanks!

Yep, the mirrors are identical on Mk2.5 & Mk3.  I'm not sure if Moondust was exactly the same shade though.

How much!??????????

Good to know they do sell them pre-painted as I also thought they were only primed...but £70 for a mirror cap is ridiculous!

Mirror covers and also some other exterior parts of the most popular colors are available pre-painted from Ford.

Mirror covers and also some other exterior parts of less popular or older discontinued colors are only available unpainted (primer only).

In this case there are 3 options:

1. Buy a new unpainted mirror cover and have it painted in the correct color by a local specialist.
2. Have the original mirror cover prepped and painted in the correct color by a local specialist.
3. Buy a pre-painted mirror cover from Ford.

Thanks everyone.... I was expecting £20 to £30 to be honest and now wondering whether to get a complete mirror second hand or have this one repaired.  Thanks for the finis code though at least I know!,

I saw them - but thanks! I’ve gone for a pair of genuine covers - in moondust but supposedly for a 2.5... so I’m fully expecting them to be wrong - but for £15. Meh!

Know it all alert 🙂

the 2 mk2 focus mirror covers I bought are the perfect fit and correct colour for a 2017 mk3.5

£15 all sorted! Well happy - thanks for all your help 🙂
