Can the bearings on the tensioner be replaced or do you have to replace the hole thing

Thanks

I needed to fix the tensioner on  1.6 petrol as bearing failed and jammed and plastic wheel melted. I thought i would be able to buy just the wheel part but no, I had to buy whole unit which made the amount of fitting work a lot longer also. If you have the tensioner off car I would try taking the wheel part off and seeing if bearing can be separated and has a standard type bearing number on it.but I can’t see anything that suggests you can avoid buying the whole unit. If you explore further let us know how it goes.
