MK 2.5 HATCHBACK BULKHEAD

Featured Replies

Hi guys I have a 58 plate hatchback and thought it had BT for phone but alas it hasn't.i was going to be over £100+ for the second hand fords parts for upgrade but managed to pick up a sonyericson BT hands free kit for £25.it says to hard wire to battery and was wondering who knows wheres there's a grommet or pre existing hole I could utilise before I begin to unscrew panels or pull up carpets.thanks in advance for any help.doug

I put some wires through gromett behind the glovebox . Glovebox was easy to remove, did not even have to empty it. Screws are around edge at opening. Other side of gromett is behind the battery.

Ps I am talking about my brothers mk2.5 focus, mot my fiesta.  After removing battery I might have had to remove the battery box , can’t quite recall

In the case of wiring something like a bluetooth  module or screen to a 12v supply theres no need to go directly from the battery;

You can use a piggy back fuse adapter and plug it in to the fuse board in the passenger footwell; save you removing the air box, battery and battery box,

I've done that when fitting amplifiers I had to run 4AWG cables from the engine bay to the boot compartment; stripped out the seats aswell to allow me route the cables under the carpet as there are curtain airbags in the roof lining

Overall here a mini piggy back fuse adapter is what you need here and a fuse for ignition live source plug it in to F100 in the passenger footwell fuse board
