Intermittent Start

Morning all, I’m new to this site so I apologise in advance if this topic has been discussed before but I’m hoping someone could assist me.

i have a 2012 (62) Focus 1.6 tdci Zetec S with push button start. I got in the car earlier to start it and when I push the start button all the lights come on and then click. I tried several time’s but click each time. It’s not the battery as it’s new and I’m certain it’s not the starter either. I had a similar problem last year. It seemed to rectify itself until now.

ive just got back in and pressed the start button and it starts!

im after selling the car but want To get this problem sorted first.

any suggestions or ideas are welcome

thanks

Chris

Could be the clutch pedal switch not engaging fully thereby stopping the ignition.

If it's clicking, might still be the starter or battery? Have you checked the battery level and also had someone listen under the bonnet when you try?

It's mounted on the pedal itself.
