Sync 3 cd player

Featured Replies

Got a small question, are the Sync 2 & 3 CD players the same and interchangeable? The screen I bought turned out to be Sync 2 which is no good for me, but will be useful to know if I can keep the CD player.

the ACM (Audio Control Module) of the SYNC 2 system is identical to the ACM of the SYNC 3 system.

There are however several different versions of the ACM for the SYNC 2/3 system. Which version is installed depends on the type of audio system (normal High Level or Sony) the amount of speakers (6-speaker, 9-speaker or 10-speaker) and digital audio (DAB+ or non DAB+).

Thanks Wilco, font of all knowledge on MK3’s as per usual! If I’m retrofitting it into my MK3 Titanium X, which one do I need as I’m not sure what spec the one I have came from?

I am not familiar with the Titanium-X trim level (this trim level was never available in the Netherlands) but based on the info I can find the Titanium-X should have the 9-speaker Sony system as standard or the 10-speaker Sony system as an option (correct me if I am wrong).

A 9-speaker SYNC 2/3 ACM with DAB+ and TMC support has a part number that starts with F1BT-18C815-VA(x can be any alphabetical character).
A 10-speaker SYNC 2/3 ACM with DAB+ and TMC support has a part number that starts with F1BT-18C815-ZA(x can be any alphabetical character).

Again thanks, the one I have doesn’t end in either VA or ZA so will sell it along with the screen and get another.

@JW1982 Will the screen and CD player from a Kuga be compatible in the Focus?
