    It is standard with the high level media systems like B&O and Sony etc...
    Had them in both mk3.5 ST's I had (Sony), and now in my mk4 ST (B&O).

    what do you? think it is.   it sits ontop of the spare wheel so when carpet goes back down it dosnt sink round the edges of the spare wheel

    Guessing it’s the factory sub woofer for the entertainment system? Pictures not that clear :)

    where actually is this thing.  from youre previous small photo i honestly thought it was the spare wheel cover.  i am wrong.

    It's a sub but specifically designed to sit on top of the spare wheel...so technically you were also right lol.

    oh. haha.  well iv looked at mine. its just a black sort of foam cover over the spare wheel.  but mines an estate. mayb different.and may not have one at all i suppose

    It's an optional extra as part of the premium sound system, not a standard feature I'm afraid!
