jace1969
The passenger side heated seat button has broke, when i push it in to turn off it just popes back out or stays in a few seconds and just comes out meaning seat is on. I can see the drivers is close to doing the same so the thing is, is this an easy fix like new buttons push out and new one in as its looks simple. Also is there or has there anyone added a light so you know when off/on and these are on the side of the seat and just a red paint mark when out to say there on. And which fuse is it to remove for the time as i don't want that on when i drive.Cheers As you can see was easy to get out, sure there is a cheaper was like a cheaper switch than £50 a switch as its only an on/off switch. Be nice to have some sort of light on the console like on the facelift one.
liamstears
Not too much help I can give but I'll try Fuses have a look here: https://knigaproavto.ru/shemy/en/ford/fiesta/79-ford-fiesta-vi-2008-fuse-box-diagram.html You could replace the switches with used ones if you could find them but who knows how long that could take There is no easy way to get an indication that these are on other than a DIY method of running an led from the switch to where you want it, the MK7.5 seats and switches can be retrofit into your car but it's a lot of work and would need the new seats, switch panel and some wiring I'm handy with a soldering iron and at fixing things so if you wanna pull your switches/fuses and post the switches to me I'd be happy to take a look see if they can be fixed, worse case they can't, all I would ask is you pay the return postage... Cheers for your help and to try and fix them i do appreciate that. So easy to get them off and looking at them the switch it looks just a live/earth type as only 2 connectors like spades. The big problem with these are there push and click so will always play up,i did see someone on YouTube put another type on but its finding them just on/off like a house light switch as what i have found also you can hit them so easy getting in and out of the car,you could do a mod just cut and make the 2 sides long and fit another type switch where the mk7.5 have them but your own type. Be good to fine a switch on eBay to try like on the YouTube video but its eBay German on the link they add,the link is below. https://www.ebay.de/itm/223352365466
liamstears
Something like this listing could do the trick if you want to move the switch to somewhere else https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Waterproof-On-Off-Rectangle-Rocker-Switch-Cover-Car-Dashboard-Dash-Boat-12V/261207744778
jace1969
Yes something like that, for the time its a pity i couldn't find a larger one that like on that video what just clips in with the 2 plug in connectors. I can get a copy one new off eBay 12 months warrant for £40 or genuine on for £50 but both still have the 12 months and look the same .https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FITS-FORD-FIESTA-1996-ONWARDS-HEATED-SEAT-SWITCH-BP127-306/192972395221?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ford-Transit-Ranger-Focus-Fiesta-Mondeo-Front-Heated-Seat-Switch-6706942/273083479470?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
liamstears
Don't think I would want to pay that personally You do have a couple other options A repair kit: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Heated-Seats-Switch-Repair-Fiesta-Mondeo-Ka-Cougar-Escort-Fusion-Tourne/184272586103 Or you could message the German sellers about postage to the UK, I'm sure they would and it would be cheaper than the UK prices of switches all in: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Schalter-Sitzheizung-ERSATZ-fur-Ford-Cougar-Fiesta-Fusion-Escort-etc-ROT/333274523002 EDIT: If going the repair method I would be opening up my switches and checking that the part that's failed is the part supplied in that listing before buying them as if not it's money wasted
jace1969
I have opened the switch up and the piece on that link is like the one inside with a slight change, the one in now has no small pin just s slight bend so it relies on the slight bend to work the on/off but this pin one looking at it would clip into place better. It's amazing a piece of steel the size of your finger nail for £26,here are the 2 pics how it works. The steel bit just slots in loose and the turns upside down and slots into the main unit with the steel goes down the narrow side and i think when pressed should lock into place which mine don't just stops open so always on. You sure yours isn't just different because it's broke? Maybe a piece has snapped off and fell out n that's why u don't have the small pin? That's what it looks like to me (check the pictures on the eBay listing, especially the one labelled 6)
jace1969
Yes you r right on the end is snapped but i did it trying to straitening it but it didn't have a small pin on it and nothing fell out but to be honest you could be right. I would've thought someone on here has striped one of these down as if this is the case then thats where the problem was as all i know going onto youtube and searching it says straiten the bit out as it bends through time so i did 3 or4 times and about the 4th time the tip broke. I had to order the £40 one and comes with 12 months warranty so had no option, sent 6 messages on eBay to people breaking them and 4 said they come with the seats and others didn't have any. Trying to just find a switch like that german one when i have time and going to message him as there around £3 off eBay a bit smaller. CHEAP - more than 50% cheaper than the original ROBUST AND RELIABLE - thanks to proven rocking mechanism and tested quality EASY REPLACEMENT in just 2 minutes without tools (see video instructions) SUITABLE FOR BOTH FRONT SEATS OF MANY MODELS - simply check whether your switch has the imprint "PA 93BG 19K 314 AA" (see offer photos) FREE EXPRESS SHIPPING INCLUDING SHIPMENT TRACKING - You will often receive your delivery the next working day. GOOD AND FAST CUSTOMER service - no matter whether before or after the purchase, write to us and we will take care of your request as soon as possible GOOD OPTICS AND HAPTICS - looks subtle, but can also be easily felt and operated while driving DIFFERENT COLORS - Choose your preferred color (all are non-luminous) from our offers.Probably a switch that will be more robust than the original, however they look quite cheap and nasty and very non oem. I did see a listing on eBay which is parts to fix your own switch (seems to be a common problem) I do like the idea of having a visual aid to tell you they are on or off which I may look to do to mine, if I manage it I will make a wee how to guide and post on this thread.
