Fordfocus2009
Hi all, I have had my ford focus 2009 titanium for around 3 years or so now and the air con was working just fine untill now. I figured it needed gassing and thought I would do it myself. Please see attached photo, I have found the low pressure valve which measures around 11mm in diameter. The only thing I cannot find is a hose that connects to it - does anyone know where I may be able to buy one? Thanks in advance.

TomsFocus
Honestly, don't bother. I've got the above trigger and had a few cans of AC gas, tried on different cars. If it's suddenly stopped blowing cold altogether you've almost certainly got a leak that won't be cured with this. It's much better to get it done at a chain garage that'll vacuum test the system, then refill the correct amount of gas if there are no leaks. It'll only cost you an extra £10 or so compared to the DIY can and they often guarantee that it'll be colder or give you a refund...
Fordfocus2009
Thanks Has anyone got any other views? I've heard arguments on both sides. To DIY or not to DIY?

Let someone else do it, with machinery that costs £1000s, and then you can get a full refund if it all just leaks back out. If you DIY and it leaks out again, well, it's an expensive enough hobby!

I have another AC question, for which I will start a new thread, rather than hijacking this one.
