Mk3.5 Estate jack location?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Been having a nightmare with my car that I bought last year. I didn't realise until afterwards that my car was missing the jack and wrench. The dealer tried to take a jack from another car but mine has the optional Sony stereo which adds in a subwoofer in the boot. The subwoofer sits in the spare wheel and takes up all the space - the spare wheel is upside down and the sub sits inside the well if that makes sense, so there is no room for anything else in the well; on the "normal" car, the spare wheel sits on top of a polystyrene insert which houses the jack. The jack looks like it should be in the side wall of the boot, as there is a side compartment with a metal pole and plastic cap and a foam insert which has marks that look like something was in there but isn't anymore. I've been through 4 Ford dealers, I've rang about 12 other dealers/garages from AutoTrader adverts all of whom didn't bother sending on pictures or information when they said they would, and I'm at a bit of a loss where to look now. The Ford dealers have even checked against my VIN number and ordered the part directly against that, which has always been the wrong one.

So this is a bit of a plea for anyone on here. Do you have (or anyone you know):

  • A Mk3.5 Focus Estate (2014-2018)
  • StLineX, Titanium, Titanium X, ST2, ST3 trim (optional stereo was only available on these) - looks like ST may have a different floor so no good for me.
  • MUST HAVE the optional Sony Stereo which you can tell by having a subwoofer in the spare wheel, and also having "Sony" logos on the front door tweeters.

If so, can you please take a picture of the jack in the side compartment of the boot, a picture of the jack on its own, and also tell me if the nut wrench is attached to the jack? Additionally, can you tell me what is in the long polystyrene insert at the back of the boot (running along the back of the rear seats) - in mine there is a towing eye and a place that again looks like it had something in but has been pilfered.

Any help is much appreciated, as this is now annoying me to no end, especially having to take up the boot with a 2-tonne trolley jack.

I have a mk3 ST-2 but no subwoofer unfortunately... but, my friend has the exact same car and the Sony stock subwoofer in the spare wheel well and he has a little bottle jack that came with the car. This actually fitted in the foam insert underneath the carpet you lift up in your boot.

Hope this helps a little?
I believe the ford transients have the bottle jack located on the passenger side under neath the seat tucked away behind a plastic panel :)

Thanks. I'm guessing the ST floor may be different then? Maybe I'll have to remove the ST's from the list of trims. I can see in this picture (Titanium X) that on the driver's side compartment - which isn't closed properly - you can see the jack label peeking out:

Hi, just wondering if you ever got the missing jack situation sorted out / got the correct one? I have exactly the same issue right now with my focus titanium x estate. Thanks Guy
