Mk 2, 2005 Ghia (SW) Intermitten Passenger Speaker problem

Featured Replies

Hey Guys, I have a problem with my 2005 Focus (mk 2) Ghia, where the bass (and only the bass, tweeter works always) cuts out, comes back (mostly out).

So, today i removed the door insert to chek speaker and wireing... Lo and behold, speaker working fine. I pulled all the wires and removed the head unit (with the speaker still working). After an hour or two, i gave up an put it all back together. And now its back to being silly again.

Have anyone expirenced this before, and if so what was the fix?

(EXTRA INFORMATION, IDK if its relavant)

The back  speakers dont work, and the head unit wont fade.

All help will be apreciated 🙂

Possible it could be a broken wire in the door flex as open closed could affect it?

I dont think so, as the dor position does not help, nor worsen the situation. But the wire coul be broken i guess. But pulling it, with the speaker running did nothing (i also cheked the speaker, with the door closed and apart)

Could be a silly suggestion, but can you swap the passenger/driver speaker? If fault persists, you'll know it's not the speaker...

I would have to drill them out, but another person suggested that mabey the door insert is smashing the wires. I kinda hopes thats the problem, because the speakers is  damm hard to get out 😕. still a great car, but the lack of sound (in one side only... and the back) drives me mad
