ford focus power steering pipe

Featured Replies

HI

I have a Ford Focus 06 plate and having had an MOT in dec 19 was told that the power steering pipe/hose has slight seepage that i am now keen to address as it is worrying me.

Looking back i see that in Oct 16 i had a new power steering pump, pipes and union fitted and the power steering fluid topped up. Should i go back to the original garage that did this work- woudl i have any recall with them or is it reasonable to only last 2 years?

any advice gratefully received.

It should defo last more than 2 years. The problem is though they reside beside the wheel arch so they are subject to getting wet and corroding. If you get a new one I would paint on some waterproof protection.

Oct 2016 is 3 years 8 months ago, not two years ago. can you explain a bit more on exactly where it is leaking, including a photo would be best.
