using spare 12v cable for bypass relay

hi ,

just purchased a towbar and electrics for my focus mk2 (2007)

after seeing an earlier "how to post" by lenny where he created another power socket in his boot using a spare 12v line which he found under his boot carpet taped up with other cables

i too have this spare 12v line in my car, can i use this to power my bypass relay? its a TEB7AS bypass relay and it says it needs a direct feed from the battery.

any help would be massivly appreciated!

many thanks

Hi mate,

Thanks for the mention and for others perhaps wondering what's he talking about heres the guide:

Guide to Fitting additional 12v Socket in Boot of Focus Click Here

And to answer your question; personally yes I would use it but I'd fit an inline fuse just to be safe; then a male spade crimp connector plugging in to the existing 12v supply and tape it up with PVC electrical tape incase your boot ever leaks.

Thanks mate 👍

Back again, hoping to wire up this week, wondered if either of you, or any one else on here can tell me what the brown and blue wire connector does?
