Rear seat base mk4

Featured Replies

Anyone know why the owners manual for the mk4 says "Note:  Do not attempt to fold the rear seat cushion forward." ? In my previous Focus' the seat base folded forward and the backs down to create a bigger and flat load area. The mk4 doesn't appear to do that.

Just the way it's designed MK3 was the same

Cheaper & quicker on the production line.  Also safer as the seat base has no chance of moving in a collision - particularly with an ISOFix child seat.

Nope, mine hinges forward

Ah I had MK3 estates obviously not the same as they were fixed.

I've got a Mk3 estate and my seat bases hinge forward like Tom's.

Yes, that was the disgusting state the previous owner left it in!! :yucky:

Being a Mk3 PFL, I obviously had to dry out the entire rear carpet before even driving the car.
