MK3 which boot linner?

Featured Replies

Hi guys and gals,

I'm looking to get a rubber boot linner for my 2013 focus and on fords accessory website it lists 2048997 which has 40mm high edge which I think is ideal, but my local dealer says this is not listed for my vehicle but 2039791 is which has 80mm high edges.

Can anyone clarify who is right, fords website or my local dealear. I would rather have the 40mm as I think the 80mm might look excessive anyone have photos they can post.

Thanx

Thanx Stephen, that's the site i was talking about  both are listed for my car. I cant understand why they would be different as i would like the 40mm but it says for cars with spare wheel 🤷🏻‍♂️

The 80mm one specifies for, ' 5-door with mini spare wheel or tyre repair kit ...'. So if you have a space saver wheel, I guess this is the one. If you have a full sized spare wheel, I guess the other one will fit. Anyway, there's a link on each listing for 'customer service' help, if you're still unsure, ask them LOL

2039791

That's the one I had for my previous MK 3 focus 5-door with mini spare wheel.

Note the preformed rubber on the back edge which fits around the hinge bracket for the double/single split rear seats.

If you have a full size spare wheel there will be a thicker spacer under the boot carpet which lifts the carpet higher in the boot. The boot liner has shorter upright sides to compensate for the thicker spacer under the carpet. The top lip of the boot liner touches the back of the rear seats. If you get the wrong liner and spacer combination it wont fit properly. So the 40mm upright goes with a full size spare wheel and the 80mm upright goes with a space saver (or tin of goo).

Thanx Stephen.. yeah I've already contacted them but still yet to get a response.

I can see that if you have a spare wheel that you may need the 40mm edge as the boot floor may not be as deep perhaps.

I've got a tyre repair and just wondered if the 40mm would also fit as the 80mm as I cant see why the floor space shape would differ 🤷🏻‍♂️

Arrr I see, thanx for clearing that up 👍🏼

So in theory the 40mm would sit loose in my set up as the spare wheel config it would sit higher which then the angle of the rear seats would be tighter/shorter to the trunk lid end (if that makes sense lol)
