2012 1.6tdci cambelt change

Featured Replies

Good Morning

I have a Focus Estate 1.6tdci Titanium, owned since 44k, now on 89k, home serviced, ie oil and filter changed every 6k (cos of previous threads on turbo failures). Clutch and DMF changed at 66k as I noticed slight judder when crawling, however when removed clutch had loads of life so maybe DMF just starting to deteriorate - as it was apart put a new DMF and LUK clutch on : was noticeably lighter and still is now at 89k. Anyway apart from normal consumables fuel filter, pads, discs etc. car hasn't required anything else, I was going to upgrade but with the diesel debacle, my mileage reducing to practically nothing due to job change (partner has a 18 plate Fiesta 1.5tdci Titanium we use) I've decided to keep. So I've ordered a Gates timing belt kit, water pump and rollers, and plan on doing the change in the next couple of weeks. I thought I had seen a tutorial on here but cant find it, and there are some on the interweb, but does anyone who's actually done one have any handy pointers?

cheers

John
