ST3 2015 Headlight unit

Featured Replies

Hi all

I had a headlight warning malfunction come up on my display screen recently so I took it to my local Fords dealer, they looked into it and I need to replace my passenger side (near-side) headlight unit as the module has failed, I had this one replaced in 2017 with the same issue and I've also had the drivers side (off-side) replaced in 2018 so this will be the 3rd complete unit fitted which this time will cost £1000 UK . has anyone else has this problem and what other options for buying from other sources has anyone used.

I cant keep replacing the units as they are so expensive and wondered what is causing this problem ? can the modular be replaced as it seems a waste that a whole headlight has to scrapped when this part fails ?

thanks in advance😀

I'm sure if a part was replaced whilst under warranty and then fails again it's still covered.

Parts fitted under warranty only get 12 months guarantee as far as I know, it's not another 3 years anyway.

But yes, it's a very common problem, you can try a used part if you can find one (they were pretty rare, only being standard on ST3s and Titanium X's), but obviously there's no telling how long that may last.  Haven't seen anyone repair the module (Ford don't make repairs like that) but maybe you could ask somewhere like BBA Reman if that's something they could do?
