External HD failing. Need a new one.

So as per title really. I'm getting read write errors on my old Westurn Digital 1tb HD. I've managed to get almost all my data off there without issue. Which is good. But I'm now in need of a new backup. Tempted to buy another Wd one as I've had this one 10 plus years.

However there are now a few options on the market I'd like some input on.

Internal SSDs in an external enclosure.

External SSDs in general

Internal SSDs added to my main pc.

 

After this scare last night I'll be buying two long term (not now can't afford it) so I can have a copy ready incase.

 

 

My main uses are my music collection.

Photos of my family

Movies I own

Small bits of data like map files, documents, contracts etc.
