JanWebster
DH was washing my car the other day and noticed several small spots,on my 68 Vignale's bonnet, where the paintwork appears to have started crazing and flaking away. Have any other owners had a similar issue?

Mavroz
Nope, not on ours. They do look like stone chips to me though.
Matt Alsop
I've had that happen on another manufacturer of car. It turned out to be a failure of the clear coat / lacquer and it was only on the roof. It can happen when there are stone chips but I've seen it before myself where no stone chips were present. You could ask about having it fixed under warranty but if they find stone chips where the top coat is coming away you may have a difficult job getting Ford to pay for it.
Ian Lanc
Some time ago my missus's spots big lumps of bird poo on the roof, missus decides to tell me the next day, cleaned the poo off and it had left marks in the lacquer just like your pic. Mavroz
Does the paintwork also only have a 1 year warranty with it? Corrosion 3 years?
