2006 Ford Ranger, deisel. Got a problem with main 80 amp fuse melting. The whole plastic fuse melts . When I turn on ignition, it starts to get hot. Can anyone help?

    It might be the fuse contacts are dirty and this causes heat to build up, which melts the fuse casing.

    Or you might have a short circuit. Unplug the fuse and connect a 12v bulb across it. A 60 watt bulb will draw 5 amps if there is a short. If the bulb lights up then you have a short. Try moving some wires or disconnect some connectors. When the bulb goes out you have found the problem.
