Reverse Camera Install

Hi,

Trying to fit an android HU in our Ford and finished running the cable to the boot for the reverse camera input. It's a wired camera and I need to solder the power to the reverse light but not 100% sure which of the 4 cables I need to strip to run the power from. Haven't got a multimeter to test so could someone help me out?

Also wondering how to run the cable through the rubber tube between the boot lid and car as its impossibly tight, any tips?

Isn't there a fuse box in the rear of the Smax?

Yes. Can you guide me? managed to feed the cable now but still have no idea how to hard wire the live and ground to the reverse light.

You can wire it directly to a switched live fuse using a piggyback. I don't know the wiring on the rear lights so to do that with you I'd need you to have a multimeter.

The earth can go to any nut on the chassis, there will be one very near the fuse box

Ok great so if I splice that and feed power to the light from that it the camera will only turn on when reverse lights are on?

I would do that but the reverse lights fuse is in the passager footwell according to the diagram I found so not massively helpful now I've already run cables to the boot 😔

Yeah, so splice the power for the camera into the green /brown ( that's green wire with brown stripe) wire and the earth for camera to any body earth point or splice into the black /white at lamp connector( that's the earth wire for lamp)

Managed to wire what I think is correctly but no image on the screen when reverse light is on. Any idea why? See photos

Hi

I bought a rear camera on Aliexpress.
Do I need a special cable to connect to Sync 2?
Is it also necessary to program with Forscan?

Tks
