Focus Mk4 global opening

Hi

Just got a Mk4 Focus Titanium -- global closing is working on the fob, but global opening is not. Any ideas?  Only goes one way in these cars. Our Mk 3 did it both ways as does our Mondeo

Sounds like a 'menu' option then? (Maybe connected to the alarm interior sensor so you can't lock a dog in by accident if activated?)

Pretty sure global window settings are in the dash menu.

Do you mean windows or doors ? Doors should always all open and close together unless you set remote or keyless to operate only drivers door. Either Global windows opening or closing can be  disabled from steering  wheel menu. Its all in the handbook

Keep your finger on the fob for longer. There is a longer delay on opening than there is for closing. Failing that you can re set it from the handbook but do check the box is ticked in the sub menu on the dash. If theres not enough power in reserve on the battery perhaps its too low to operate the windows all at once ?

To get global opening to work you need to press the open button, release and then press the open button again keeping it pressed until windows start to come down.

I guess Ford introduced an additional press to stop accidental global opening.

Yes.

Quick press on remote to unlock. Then press and hold to operate global opening

Probably not press twice to stop accidental global opening , to turn the alarm off first, then open the windows.

PS. if you've been parked for several days, they may not open as it's another function they turn off when battery below a certain level.

That makes so much sense, it could be true!

It is true - all working now - thanks for the help.  Our Mondeo, which is a little older, does it all on one button push. New Focus --- closes on one button push - opens on two button pushes.
