SYNC Update 3.4 now available

Recommended Posts

Update 3.4 now available. At least for Spanish vehicles, like mine.

We can now download the long-awaited version 3.4 and the F9 version maps

In my case, I had to do it through a USB flash drive. Since it is a download of approximately 25GB. If I manage to do it through the mobile Wi-Fi network, it will end my data plan.

Doing it manually is 3 parts.

First: Upgrade to SYNC 3.4 (30min)
Second: Update the F9 version of the maps (55min), then the vehicle asks for a complete key cycle.
Third: Then continue the installation for 10 more minutes, until the installation complete message appears.

Might explain why it is so hard to get a map update. The sync 3.0 cars can be repartitioned (some have so all can) but I suspect you would need a Tesla battery for the updating if Ford were to do the software!

Any one know what is new in this update ??

Many improvements. And the most notable is the change in appearance of the GUI.

I have no idea why it takes so long to install the new version of SYNC or the maps.

I did it during the course of a little walk through my city. So the battery does not discharge
