Hi. My sister owns a 2013 Focus powershift petrol. It's got 67000 on the clock but unfortunately there's no service history with it. She has been told by her local garage that the gearbox oil needs changing every 3 years at a cost of £300 and if she doesn't have it done there's a chance of it breaking. She also contacted a gearbox specialist who has told her the Focus petrol has a sealed gearbox and it doesn't need doing, as only the Focus diesel requires an oil change. Can anybody put her mind at ease with this or is it a worry?

Unfortunately if it’s a power shift the oil change intervals are every 3 years or 37500 miles

Ok, that's a dct250 powershift and doesn't need oil changing at any particular mileage. The powershift that does require oil and filter change at 3 yrs is the dct 450 powershift( diesel)
