jassingh
Hi guys I feel as though my Wiper Blades are onto needing a change since I notice some smearing on the windscreen when the wipers go back down. Not sure when they were last changed so might get a replacement set - how easy are these to fit? I have a '67 plate Fiesta. The smearing is most visible at night during heavy rain but also will give the windscreen itself a proper clean up just incase there is dirt on there which causes that. Also I have read that the genuine Ford Wiper Blades have a 'wear indicator' on them that should show whether they are onto needing changing or not - whereabouts can this be found on the blades themselves and how does it look? Cheers

So the factory Wiper Blades don't come with the wear indicators on but all of the replacement ones you buy do. They are located on the tips of blades, you can't miss them. To replace simply lift your wiper arm up and press the button on the blade to unlock it, then slide it out of the arm. To fit the new ones it's basically the same in reverse, make sure you hear it it click to know it's locked in place. Be careful of the arm when you take the wiper off as this can crack the windscreen if it springs back down. Best off placing it down gently on the screen until you're ready with the new blade
jassingh
@MasterTechTip Ah thanks for the info. Would you be able to advise what would be the best way to obtain replacements? I checked a few on eBay etc but I guess all the blades are specific part numbers and I would need to purchase a particular set, right? Is there somewhere I can enter a reg and look up the correct replacements? Thanks

They're a bit limited - they have the single larger blade but not a pack with the smaller one too.

I wondered if you could see what blades you need from that site.
Paulkp
Earlier this year, my local Ford Main Dealer was selling Wiper Blades cheaper than Halfords. A pair, one long one short, in one box that fits our 07' Fiesta and 10' Fusion.

jbell
I use https://www.wiperblades.co.uk/ Bosch aerotwins are fine.
TomsFocus
Wear indicators are a nice gimmick but they don't actually work. They're just based on 'time', which is fine if you drive in rain everyday, but the wear indicators fade at the same rate even if you don't use the car at all... I tend to stick to genuine blades nowadays...I look for bargains on eBay (my last genuine VW set cost £5...inc postage!) but even from the dealer they're not that expensive and you don't have to fiddle around with clips like on the universal blades. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ford-Fiesta-MK8-2017-Onwards-Front-Wiper-Blades-Set-Brand-New-2373116

Yep just bought a set of Bosch Aerotwin wipers - seem good quality and reliable for the price. They're also a direct-fit so they'll just clip on nicely. Appreciate the help!
