Focus clutch issue.

My uncle just bought a 2009 focus. Got it home all was fine. The next mornjng the clutch pedal is going straight to the floor when its moved only an inch or so. I know they have an issue with the release spring on the pedal but I don't think this is the issue here. From what I've seen. When the spring is gone you can push the pedal down but it just doesnt come back up. 

In this case you only have to touch the pedal and it flies down to the floor on its own. Can anyone help?
