good morning people i hope some one can help,I have had the wife's ford galaxy MOT'ed , and the main things it failed on were emissions,it failed on rear suspension  bushes and minor other things as well, but these don't concern me. The results from the tests are;-

Fast Idle Test                    min.          max

CO             =1.12                                 0.20

HC             =489                                200

LAMBDA  =1.093             0.970         1.030

2nd Fast Idle Test

CO             =1.14                                 0.20

HC             =448                                200

LAMBDA  =1.09                0.970        1.030

Natural Idle Test

CO             =0.59                               0.30

as you can see it's not good and  they are 2x max limit .. any ideas ? ill change the spark plugs this should sort the Hydro-carbons i think .should i replace the lambda sensor? any ideas would be very gratefully received.

When was it last serviced? I would also suggest Air filter and oil and filter change too. And maybe some fuel system cleaner and give it a good blast down a dual carriageway, in a lower than normal gear to keep the revs up. (during any essential journeys or course 😉)
