Sloppy gear stick

Featured Replies

Evening everybody.

The gearstick on my Ranger (2013, 6 speed 3.2l) mk4 (i think) has got a lot of slack / play in it. All drives fine etc but i think that the bushing has gone on it. Does anybody where i can get a replacement from? Ford told me that there are no spares or repair kits available but that i can have a whole new assembly for £400!!!

All the internet throws up is loads of videos of how to replace it and links to American shops to buy a rebuild kit. They're only $30 over there and seem as common of muck which makes it all the more annoying that I'm getting nowhere over here.

Any help appreciated

Cheers,

Terry

Hi there is 2 bolts either side of the shift assembly where it attaches to the gearbox. If they come loose or you lose one the shifter goes very slack. They can come loose over time and cause a slack shifter

mmm... 2 x newbies, asked and answered! Welcome to the forum guys...
