It shows volts, ohms and milliamps by that port.  I think Stephens right.

I have this meter and the answer is yes, but only if the drain is less than 200mA, over that it will see off the internal fuse.  The other terminal is marked 10A/60 sec max.

Incidentally, should the test meter be connected in the pos or neg line or doesn't it matter?

What is an acceptable ie normal drain; my clamp meter shows 0.2A.

Yes, for measuring on the 200mA range the red lead should be plugged in to the RHS of the meter where it says mA, the left hand hole is just for measuring the 10A range. You either need to move the leads and try again, or as suggested above, you've already blown the fuse and that's why you're reading zero.

i see it now my bad. i have test on that side before and still showed 0 but i will try it again thanks chaps
