Focus mk3.5 Tpms tyre change

Hi, I have a 2016 Ford Focus.

I have seen several references that say the tpms system will not work if a tyre is changed.

If I get a puncture and decide to get my tyre (just the rubber bit, not the metal wheel) changed for a part worn tyre, will this cause tpms issues?

Is there a certain brand of tyre that I need to get

Hi,

No the tpms part is behind the valve on the wheel. I have had a few tyres changed on mine. There have been reports of some tyre places damaging the tpms part while changing the tyre but I've not had a problem at my local tyre fitters.

Places fitting part worns are likely to not be overly careful and end up damaging the sensor.  A tyre change in itself isn't an issue though.
