Ford/Blaupunkt Travelpilot FX 6CD changer in boot not recognised

2010 mk4 Mondeo 1.8tdci titanium pre facelift

The head unit can play a cd, bluetooth, Radio, sat Nav etc.

But it does not recognise / see the 6 cd's I have in the boot changer unit. It makes a whirring motor sound when I plug in the 6 CD cartridge so must have power to it.

Does anyone know how to make the head unit “see” the 6 x cd's in the boot unit?

Hi  GeoffGeoff, I have this same issue. Looks like the changer was bought as 2nd hand. After trying, changer "scans" all CD's, takes 1 in after... and that's it. Had it stripped out to clean etc, but still not working.

Was looking on eBay, found the comment on auction that the changer has to be programmed into the car. But there is so many different models and I have no idea, which one will work on mine.

Anyone, please?

The 6 disc unit can be programmed in to the car using a Laptop and the software FORScan. Almost all Ford milti-disc players of around the same general age of your car will be compatible.

Brill, thank you unofix

Can you recommend the decent cable, please? Fairly new to that...

If you need to buy a cable to use FORScan you may as well get the new "vLinker FS" as this will be suitable for present and newer vehicles.
