Hi everyone my name is Janine. I’m from Essex and I’m a rare female old car enthusiast. Between us my partner and I have 3 cars - all fords. We have an Escort Mk5 cabriolet 1.6 xr3i 1991 J reg 95800 Genuine miles. We have a 1992 MK3 Fiesta 1.1 3 door with 32500 genuine miles (yes you read that right. Belonged to an elderly lady before we got it). Lastly we have a MK4 Fiesta W reg five door, 1.25 Zetec S with 53460 genuine miles on.
The Escort is my Partners pride and joy and also has a lot of sentimental value as belonged to his late mum. His late father was a mechanic and auto electrician by trade so he used to do the work for next to nothing but he’s been gone a year.
We have spent quite a bit on our cars, the Escort especially what with having the engine rebuilt last spring and it’s a project car but still in great condition for the age. We have had a full respray in genuine Ford radiant red done in July.
The MK3 fiesta has been well looked after too and that is next to have a paint job after a insecure gate swung into it.
They will soon be classic cars and we’re going to keep them in good order until they do eventually get to a stage where they can’t be worked on any more.
The MK4 Fiesta is in good order too. That’s my little shopping car 😉

Apart from being a car enthusiast I also have a life away from them. My other hobbies are

Cross stitch, knitting, jewellery making, candle making, soap making, rock music, reading and diamond painting. I also have five cats that keep me on my toes as well as being a Bodyshop at home consultant.

Wow I can talk all day lol but this could get quite long.

Hello and welcome

I was in a mk4 fiesta going camping in the lakes,we had planned to meet some friends there who travelled by train,we had all the camping gear in this two door fiesta..Halfway up hardknott pass the steering went...we realised all the weight had shifted to the back of the car and the front wheels were barely making contact with the road..oh how I laughed carrying the gear up that hill so my friend could make it up in the car..

Enjoy

Marty
